The Smart Communities in Chicago Master Plan was released on December 21, 2009 by Mayor Richard M. Daley and hailed by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski as a model of planning for technology in urban areas at an event sponsored by the City of Chicago and LISC/Chicago in Chicago Lawn.
