2009 marks the 100th anniversary of the Plan of Chicago, or, as it is often referred to, the Burnham Plan, after its chief author, Daniel Burnham. The 2009 APA Upper Midwest Conference will be held September 24-26, 2009 at the Downtown Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois. 2) CMAP "Go to 2040" Design Scenarios | Sugar Grove, IL
For the past couple months, Teska Associates, Inc. has been collaborating with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop "Go to 2040" Design Scenarios for the community of Sugar Grove, IL. 3) Neighborhood Plans Sparking Change
Over the past year, Teska has led community planning efforts in three very different communities: the Westside of Bloomington, Washington Park in Chicago, and the Washington Neighborhood in Dubuque. All three efforts have followed the quality-of-life planning model in which a comprehensive range of community assets is used to frame recommendations that will not only be promoted for municipal action, but include ideas that neighborhood associations, housing developers, and local service organizations can implement. 4) Elm Street Corridor Streetscape Master Plan | Canton, IL
Teska Associates, Inc. continues to build its relationship with the City of Canton and the Spoon River Partnership for Economic Development (SRPED), providing planning and design services to prepare the Elm Street Corridor Streetscape Master Plan. The plan for the Elm Street corridor builds off of the Downtown Streetscape Master Plan & Façade Enhancement Guidelines that Teska prepared for the City in 2008 via its Downtown Canton Beautification Initiative.
