Olive Harvey College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago located on the City’s south side, is preparing itself for a dramatic facelift. The College is home to approximately 3,000 students who commute daily to and from the campus.
Teska Associates, Inc. is working with The Architects Enterprise, Ltd. to plan for enhancements to the college grounds. The goal of the enhancements is to create a cohesive campus environment for students, faculty, administrators and visitors.
Features of the master plan include the following:
- A prominent campus entry;
- Effective traffic circulation and storage;
- Welcoming pedestrian access between parking areas and buildings;
- Attractively landscaped stormwater storage;
- Preservation of mature stands of trees;
- A distinguished arrival commons that will support large and small gatherings as well as a pronounced ‘sense of place’ for the college campus.
