  • Why do we plan?
  • Planning is one of the most important steps a Village can take to become healthier, safer, and economically stronger. By bringing together residents, leaders, and community development experts, a community can set goals for its future, decide on priorities and get the wheels turning on positive changes. Planning is a big effort, but it has big payoffs!

  • What is the difference between the Comprehensive Plan and the Zoning Orinance?
  • A Comprehensive Plan generally guides land use and is a policy document that provides guidelines for future growth or redevelopment of a community. Whereas the Zoning Ordinance is part of Hanover Park's Village Code, which regulates the type, scale and intensity of development which may occur in specific zoning districts.
