As a follow-up to work on a Comprehensive Park System Master Plan, Teska Associates, Inc. developed a detailed development plan for Inbinder Park. The park provides needed recreational facilities to an adjacent apartment complex and other surrounding residential development. The site contains an existing pond that was dug when the adjacent highway bypass and associated overpass was created. The design accommodates all ages and abilities with features including a recreational trail, playground, basketball court, a fishing and observation deck, and interpretive signage that highlights the prairie restoration incorporated into the park's design.
Land for the park was donated to the City. This donation was then used as the City's match for funding through the State of Illinois OSLAD grant program.
