As a subconsultant to Parsons Brinkerhoff, Teska was charged with developing land use and design guidelines for the new Prairie Parkway being planned in Kane and Kendall Counties to connect I-80 with I-88. The firm worked with the Land Use Task Force established to guide the overall planning of the corridor. This Task Force was comprised of local government elected and appointed officials.
Land use and transportation sketches were prepared for each of the major interchanges planned along the Parkway. Guidelines focused on design issues such as site layout, buffering, landscaping, signs and access controls. Teska is currently working with local communities to determine appropriate ways to integrate these guidelines into local development regulations.
