Park Lane is a single family residential community of approximately 100 acres on the North Shore of Chicago. Traditional planning principals were incorporated into the development in order to blend with the historical character of Lake Forest. The principals employed included use of alleyways, mix of lot sizes, traditional architectural guidelines, and a community green.
The design team at Teska concentrated development around the open space and natural features of the site. Wooded areas and wetlands were preserved, and the one hundred year floodplain was reconfigured for residential development. Two ponds were created, along with a large community green known as Carroll Park.
