Building upon the Village's original Comprehensive Plan from 1969, Teska Associates, Inc assisted Gardner with preparing a plan update that outlines recommendations and objectives designed to guide future planning for sensible and sustainable growth and community development. Planning for a small rural community with a population of about 1,400 residents, the Gardner Comprehensive Plan was a streamlined document that focused on preparing a general inventory of existing conditions and drafting recommendations for future land use, transportation, community facilities, and the downtown area. The plan also outlines a series of implementation steps which the Village can take to proactively carry out the recommendations defined in the plan.

In addition to the Gardner Comprehensive Plan, Teska has been proactive in assisting Grundy County and its other communities with their planning efforts, including drafting municipal comprehensive plans, providing development review services, and preparing special area plans and studies.
