The Village of Plainfield, the oldest community in Will county, was established in the early 1800s in the verdant prairie and lush forest surrounding the DuPage River. Over the last decade, Plainfield has seen a surge in population and may grow as much as 8 percent per year for the next 20 years.

This surge in population created a need for strategies to address this future growth as well as an opportunity to create a quality community in which to live and work.

Teska assisted the Village in updating its Comprehensive Plan, which contains a wide range of recommendations with a primary focus on transportation and land use issues. A Transportation Plan, Community Facilities Plan, and Detailed Corridor Plans were developed under the Comprehensive Plan revision.
