Located in a rural setting just southwest of the Chicago metropolitan region, the City of Morris is experiencing an increasing push for growth and development. To help manage this growth, Teska Associates has been retained to advise the City in review of current development proposals and in modifications to City regulations.
The first major planning task was the preparation of the Route 6/Brisbin Road Corridor Plan. As a supplement to the Morris Comprehensive Plan, the Route 6/Brisbin Road Corridor Plan addresses a more detailed land use and circulation system for the area. In addition to this special area plan, Teksa has reviewed over 30 proposed developments for Morris ranging from small commercial strip developments to a 850 acre mixed use development. Teska has also assisted Morris in ammendment to the City's zoning regulations, modification to residential zoning categories and creating a site plan review process to address commercial and multi-family development.
