Originally adopted in March 1994, the Kendall County Land Resource Management Plan (LRMP) is designed to provide a guide for controlled growth while maintaining the areas rural character. For example, a County Transportation Plan was prepared to show the interconnections among all the roads, railroads, and trails throughout the County.
The plan has been essential in managing growth in one of the fastest growing County's in the country during the 2000-2006 time period. Since its original adoption, the LRMP has been revised periodically to reflect changing development trends and to incorporate guidelines for scenic corridors and greenways. To focus the plan at a smaller scale, individual plans were prepared for each of the 9 townships in the County.
