The Village of Olympia Fields is an upscale, largely built-out south suburban community. After several unsuccessful proposals on a key site adjacent to the 211th Metra Station, the Village retained the team of Teska/BDI to facilitate a public-private partnership to develop this prime 10 acre site. The resulting plan takes advantage of the nearly 40,000 cars a day passing the site along Lincoln Highway while providing opportunities for a mixed use development features condominiums, restaurants, and shops. The land plan developed by Teska takes advantage of views to an adjacent Park District property, and preserves over 30% of the site in open space. Despite a tough economy, a CVS opened in the fall of 2009 to kick-start the development.
