Teska and the property contract owner have planned the Cedar Vineyard as an open space conservation, residential and vineyard neighborhood. The 200-acre property is situated on a coastal Lake Michigan bluff table land, 100’ above the beach facing the rising sun to the east, dramatic!
The property contains ecologically significant Cedar Gorge, a wooded ravine leading to the lake shore below and clay bank bluffs and high regarded avian habitat. The plans have been made to allow the County conservation land trust to manage and control the eastern 100 acres of bluff and table land edge as open space and trails. The 84 homes will have views of the Lake Michigan horizon with the remainder of the property containing an operating vineyard and winery as a commercial use qualifying the site improvements for tax increment financing.
Teska Associates provided site planning services, entitlement approvals and marketing graphics for the development.
