Katie McLaughlin – Associate
Ms. McLaughlin joined Teska in July 2016 after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in city planning. During her studies she became interested in neighborhood planning, waterfront design, site planning, urban design, and community engagement after working on projects in Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, and Suzhou, China. Katie believes the most important and rewarding aspect of planning and design is learning about and working with communities to find how a project can meet their specific needs, character, and goals.
Prior to working at Teska Associates, Inc., Katie interned at WRT (Wallace Roberts & Todd) working on community engagement, open space, and comprehensive plans, and the City of Philadelphia’s urban design team furthering their many District Plans. Originally from St. Louis, Katie also had the opportunity to intern at various levels of planning governments there as an undergraduate. Her work for these internships included graphic design, research, mapping, copy editing, and data analyzation.
Katie enjoys using her skills in ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Rhino to visualize data and future possibilities for communities. She is currently working towards AICP certification.
