National Rebuilding Day 2011

National Rebuilding Day is the annual signature event of Rebuilding Together, and is the culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and mobilizing hundreds of thousands of community volunteers. On April 30, 2011, about 600 volunteers worked on 27 homes in 12 communities.

Homeowner Thanks: “I cannot even express in words how I feel. I have hope that I can stay in my home without getting a second mortgage to fix the roof because you fixed it. I have pride in my yard because you cleaned it up and made it look beautiful. I have joy in my heart because you painted my living room and kitchen which makes it so bright and cheerful. All of this is because of Rebuilding Together.”

The North Suburban Chapter was formally incorporated in 1996. They spread the spirit of volunteerism through home rehabilitation by helping low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, in communities of North Suburban Chicago. To learn more, visit www.rebuildingtogethernsc.com.
