SCOTT GOLDSTEIN, AICP
Principal

Mr. Goldstein has fifteen years of experience in community planning and development. including twelve years with the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC), a non-profit civic organization based in Chicago, where he served as vice president of policy and planning. At MPC, he assisted two dozen communities on a range of issues: from transit oriented development to environmentally-sensitive planning and development policies to watershed and comprehensive planning. He has experience in zoning, affordable housing, market analysis, and assisting communities identify and secure public grants. Through a partnership with the Urban Land Institute Chicago (ULI Chicago) and the Campaign for Sensible Growth, Goldstein has organized nineteen Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs) on a wide range of community development challenges, bringing a market-based perspective to enhance the environment of local communities. Goldstein also has experience in local fiscal and tax policy, technology-based development, and state planning policies. He helped draft and pass two pieces of planning and stormwater management legislation and an executive order creating the state’s first regional water supply planning program.

Goldstein serves as chair of public policy for ULI Chicago, a member of the MPC Community Building Initiative’s Advisory Board, the Village of Wilmette’s Plan Commission, and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s Regional Water Supply Planning Group. He received his M.S.U.P. from Columbia University in New York, and a B.A. from Tufts University in Massachusetts.
