Wilmette Downtown Streetscape

Project Highlights

• Robust engagement strategy, including a combination of online polls, stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and public meetings
• Hardscaping, furnishing, and planting designs for various public spaces throughout the downtown
• Concept design, construction documentation, and construction oversight

Teska was responsible for shaping the public spaces, including design for hardscapes, furnishings, and plantings. Specialty items such as festoon lighting, bollard lighting, custom site furnishings, seatwalls, and wayfinding signage were designed by Teska and coordinated with the project team. Teska remained involved throughout construction to review samples, mockups and shop drawings – all to confirm that the built product matched the initial design intent.

After two years of planning and two construction seasons, construction on the downtown streetscape is now complete as of August 2021.
