Improving navigation and celebrating Village character
Building on Glencoe's adopted Downtown Plan, Teska worked with the Village to develop and implement a new signage program. Working alongside Village staff, the Village Board, and an advisory committee, the team created a hierarchy of signs for municipal entries, downtown gateways, parking, destinations, business kiosks, and wayfinding for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists along the Green Bay Trail.
Gateway, wayfinding, parking, and bike signage consolidates community messaging and minimizes sign clutter, while a community events sign uses interchangeable panels to promote local happenings. The program expresses Village identity and character through clear and attractive design and efficiently directs visitors to municipal destinations and parking. The result is a welcoming wayfinding system that connects Glencoe's corridors and destinations.
